Dr Senan Al-Mahaidi is an Australian trained general surgeon, who started his tertiary education with an undergraduate degree in Medical Science from the University of Sydney. He then went on to obtain a Graduate Diploma in Neuroscience via research graduating with Honors. After gaining his post-graduate medical degree from the University of Tasmania (Hons), he underwent specialty training in General Surgery through the John Hunter Hospital training network.
He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2017. He then underwent further sub-specialty training in colorectal surgery at Gosford Hospital, consolidating valuable skills in laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
Dr Al-Mahaidi has experience in treating a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions, having with extensive experience and training at regional and rural hospitals. Senan is please to be able to provide minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic hernia repair and laparoscopic bowel resections.
Senan has multiple public and private VMO appointments; including Manning Base Hospital, Mayo Private Hospital, Forster Private Hospital, Gloucester Hospital, Maitland Private Hospital, Maitland Public Hospital, and Cessnock Hospital. He consults in Taree, Forster, Gloucester, Cessnock, and Maitland.
